Painting Plus

Week 1 with the new SS is a success :)

Firstly, we saw a whole heap of mortar has been patched up around the house. The brick that was on the wrong way around has been replaced as well.

Visiting today we saw that all the painting, internal as well as external, has been completed. Finally we have eaves and downpipes painted! The sheeting at the back of the house blends really well now that it's painted too.

Luckily the front door was left open so we could get inside. We had a couple of surprises! Our air conditioning vents are in - we are sooo glad we changed to the square ones! The mirrors have been installed in the powder room and bathrooms. We have showers now! They look really nice.

We are very happy with our paint colour inside - glad it turned out, it was a very confusing choice back in the colour consultation days!

Oh another surprise - our rangehood has been installed. Looks really sleek with the glass :)

One last small surprise, we stepped out into the balcony for the first time in daylight, and between some trees looking north...we can see a very tiny Centrepoint Tower hahaha crazy!

Enjoy the pics from this week. Looking forward to the rush of next week - we saw all the door handles, bathroom fit offs and door dampeners ready for next week.

Let There Be Light!

How exciting, turning on our first light!

Our spa bath is well and truly installed, and the bath spout is so beautiful I love it and the photos don't do it justice.

Alarm was installed today also, the sensors in the house are quite big and give off a red light. Might have to get used to that in the main bedroom at night. They put the sensors in the entry, main bedroom, laundry, living room.

Rangehood was not installed looks like they were just measuring it up, exhaust fan in downstairs powder room still needs to be installed.

I also saw they completed the downpipes around the house. Not sure if that happened yesterday or I just haven't been paying attention recently!

Footer lights in the stairwell and theatre are really nice, but a lot brighter than I expected!!! A little too bright for the tiny theatre room I think, so we'll see how that goes.

External up down lights really show the really bad brick work. That's going to be an interesting conversation with our SS...

Upper eaves and downpipes painted

Last week we saw the upper eaves and downpipes have been painted.

The scaff for the first floor has come down, however that roof tile has not been fixed which is really annoying!!

They've started on the gutter and fascia of the ground floor also - you can see it above the garage in the photos.

There are more marks on the bricks, which our SS told us is the salt coming from the bricks (or mortar?) - it's called effervescence. He said he'll need the brick cleaners to do another clean, and put a treatment on it (some type of acid treatment) to stop it from happening. Fun!

Upper Roof Completed

Upper roof has now been completed, and the downpipes and eaves have been delivered onto site.

I feel like everything was going so fast, and now we're back to the slow stage of the build...I thought the roof and downpipes would already be done by the time we had come back from holiday.

They need to install eaves and downpipes, clean the first floor bricks, paint the eaves and downpipes and dismantle the top level of the scaffolding - I was hoping that would all be done by the end of the week, I'm not really sure why it's taking so long. After that, then they can start tiling the small sections of lower floor roof...
