Airconditioning & Electrical Cutouts, Bits and Pieces

This week we had the wet area tiles grouting completed. The niches don't look so terrible now that there's white grout to make the lines less severe.

We had electrical points all cut out of the gyprock this week ready for fit offs this week.

We got a call from the air conditioning company and were able to change our vents to the square ones, which we are so thankful for because we chose the round ones in the beginning but were having second thoughts about them since.

We had little touch ups for gyprock including having the staircase and understairs storage gyprocked up, plus other parts around the house that weren't fully sealed by the initial gyprock install.

This week we should finally be getting first coats of paint around the house. We are booked in for floor tiling to commence from the 19th (Thursday).

Enjoy the pics

Gyprock Complete

We turned up to site after work on Friday and these guys were still working on the Gyprock!

Took a look at it today, and all the gyprock is done. Ready to put all the architraves in for next week.

Oh we also have a little balcony now! The railing must have gone up on Friday as well. I love the white, it looks great with the white window frames, and will look perfect with white shutters!

We were also told by Wisdom, that we were not allowed to change the position of the alarm GPO (which we put under the stairs) and it had to be in bedroom 3 WIR as the display, however we got this moved into the linen closet we thought it was a more suitable place for it? SS confirmed this was done by the electrician.

We got the next progress payment for the second last stage of our build, and some pretty good news in terms of deadlines:

Wed 14th: Bricks will be cleaned and treated
By next Friday 16th: Skirting, stairs, architraves, doors will be installed
Monday 19th: LOCK-UP?!
After lockup, 6-7 weeks until completion - so looking at beginning of July

Wow the end is nigh!

It was really something special walking into the house today with the gyprock done, having walls and no bricks or frame or insulation in sight. We thought it would look smaller, but all the areas we were worried about being small are pretty big so we left very happy.

I hope Wisdom can keep up the pace now :)

Enjoy the daylight photography this time!

Gyproxxx

Visited the chateau last night and much to our relief, they have started with the gyprock.

I do hope we discover more has been completed over the weekend. Wisdom have had a tendency to do a big day of work with a few days off in between as of late...

Sorry for the poor quality night time photography!

Electrical Rough-in

Hi everyone,

Sorry I haven't updated in a while...there just hasn't been much to update.

However, I think we're on the move again this week. But still, we are behind on what and when we've been told things are happening.

Since my last post, this is how far we've gotten:

  • Air conditioning ducting
  • Electrical rough-in
  • Speaker pre-wiring
  • Noggins for my spray painted areas (woohoo!)
  • Half lower floor roof tiling completed (alfresco/leisure out back)
  • Fireplace and flue installed
  • Cavity units for sliding doors installed (theatre and ensuite)
  • Gyprock delivered onto site

Our SS called us today to tell us that our lower roof tiles would be finished today, but alas they have not.

Schedule: roof to be completed, gyprock to begin Monday for 10 days, doors/cornices to be installed, staircase install, then lockup

I think that will take us at least to the end of the month. It's really starting to drag on now.

I hope everyone else is getting things moving along on their sites!!!
